“Every Wedding is a unique story of love, friendship, family and tradition – my greatest pleasure is to capture the beauty, the joy and all the details in an artistic and journalistic fashion.” – Chiaki Sato

Tokyo born Chiaki Sato developed her passion for photography at an early age, and was able to encourage and mold this budding dream through study at the International Center for Photography (ICP) in New York City, while simultaneously taking courses at the Christine Valmy International Beauty School for Cosmetology and Esthetics. During college and in the years immediately following, she continued to gain knowledge and experience by assisting a select number of renowned photographers in New York, focusing on beauty and fashion portraiture.

Her love for her work deepened when she started a personal project titled “International Couples – People She Meets on the Streets of New York.” The project, still ongoing, has given her the chance to develop spontaneity and interpersonal skills while telling a story with her camera. This early endeavor has helped her become one of the best wedding photographers in NYC.

Chiaki started as an assistant photographer at Wolfgang Freithof  Studios in 2003, before becoming an associate photographer for the studio. She currently works as a New York Wedding Photographer Wolfgang Freithof’s partner and principal photographer at weddings, where she is able to bring her unique vision and artistic sensibilities to each assignment. She complements the studio’s unique approach with wedding photography on assignments in New York City, the United States, and around the world.
